Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026

Lorna Smith Interiors ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or get in touch with us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Lorna Smith Interiors is an interior design studio based in Chichester, West Sussex. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at design@lornasmithinteriors.co.uk or on 07341 659690.

What we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us, or that is needed to run the website:

• Contact details you send through our enquiry form or by email, such as your name, email address, phone number and details about your project.
• Information you share with us during a design project, such as your address, photographs of your home, preferences and budget.
• Basic technical information collected automatically when you visit the site, such as your browser type and the pages you view. See our cookie policy for more detail.

How we use your information

• To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project.
• To provide our design services, including preparing proposals, invoices and project documents.
• To keep our website working securely and well.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your information, and we will never send you marketing emails unless you have asked to receive them.

Our lawful basis

Under UK data protection law we rely on: your consent when you send us an enquiry; the performance of a contract when we work together on a project; our legitimate interests in running and improving our business and website; and legal obligations, such as keeping financial records.

Who we share it with

We only share your information where necessary to provide our services, for example with trusted suppliers, contractors and tradespeople working on your project (with your agreement), our website host (Webflow), email provider, and our accountant. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within 12 months. Client project and financial records are kept for up to 6 years after the project ends, to meet legal and tax requirements.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, to ask for a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To make a request, email design@lornasmithinteriors.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
