This is the master bathroom in a home we designed on the South Coast, and even four years on, it remains one of our favourite spaces to start the day in. With morning light streaming in from both south and north, a solid oak, bespoke washstand brings warmth to the room and sits beautifully alongside veined Arabescato marble, brass fluted lighting and polished nickel taps that blend quietly rather than compete for attention. Inside the washstand, deep hidden laundry drawers keep everyday mess tucked well out of sight, so the room always feels neat, fresh and ready for the day ahead. A pair of solid brass lion towel rings, found in a local antiques store and given a careful polish, adds a lovely sense of history to an otherwise contemporary scheme. It's proof that a genuinely luxurious bathroom doesn't need to feel cold or showroom-perfect — it can still feel warm, personal, and entirely lived-in.
